1. Preparation
Gradually lower mowing height to expose crowns without scalping.Remove debris makes aeration, fertiliser placement, and topdressing more effective.
2. Thatch Removal / Scarifying
Use a scarifier or vertimower to open the canopy. Allows water, nutrients, and air to reach the roots and encourages new growth.
3. Aeration
Core, solid-tine, or hollow-tine aeration relieves compaction and improves root depth. Prepares the soil for amendments, fertiliser, and topdressing.
4. Soil Amendments
Apply Gypsum or Lime (granular or powder) can be applied now. Corrects soil structure, pH, calcium levels, and water infiltration.
Apply fertiliser immediately after aeration for best penetration. Use Energy Turf for fast greening, recovery, and colour or Energy Maxx a high-analysis feed with high phosphorus and organics for longer-term soil and plant health.
5. Topdressing
Spread a compatible sand/soil mix over aerated turf.
Lawn Reviver adds organic matter, improves CEC, and retains moisture to support recovery.
Renovations are ideal for trace element application.Trace Element Mix supplies Zn, Mn, Fe, Cu, and B evenly across turf for colour, growth, deficiencies, and enzyme activity.
6. Watering In
Use Seasorb to improve moisture retention, hydrate roots, and activate fertilisers and soil amendments.
7. Post-Renovation Maintenance
Resume mowing once turf reaches desired height. Watch for pests and disease newly renovated turf is more vulnerable.
